frequently asked questions

  • Pilates might be trendy, but it isn’t new. It was created in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It works the whole body using low-impact exercises that strengthen your muscles by focusing on posture, alignment, and flexibility. Mat pilates utilises body weight exercises and small props to add extra challenge. The pilates reformer is a piece of equipment resembling a bed that has springs which add resistance to the exercises performed.

  • Barre is a combination of yoga flows, pilates moves and ballet techniques - but don’t worry, dance experience isn’t required! The workout is low impact but high intensity, using isometric holds to give you that signature barre burn, broken up with dynamic, flowing, whole-body movements that feel oh-SO-good and get your blood pumping.

I’ve never done barre or pilates before, can I attend?
