FAQs

  • Pilates might be trendy, but it isn’t new. It was created in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It  works the whole body using low-impact exercises that strengthen your muscles by focusing on  posture, alignment, and flexibility. Joseph developed over 600 exercises for the Mat and the various  apparatuses he invented, including the Reformer.

  • Barre is a combination of yoga flows, pilates moves and ballet techniques - but don’t worry, dance  experience isn’t required! The workout is low impact but high intensity, using isometric holds to give  you that signature Barre burn, broken up with dynamic, flowing, whole-body movements that feel oh SO-good and get your blood pumping.

  • Yes, everyone is welcome! We cater to all skill levels and body types. Our workouts are low impact, so  they’re also perfect if you’re just starting an exercise program or post-baby.

  • If you are new to Barre and Pilates, start with our Barre, Mat Pilates or Reformer Pilates classes. These  classes are all layered with options to make them beginner-friendly, as well as providing progressions  for participants who are ready to challenge themselves. Our Fast Barre, Power Pilates and Jumpboard  classes are for our more experienced participants who feel ready to progress even more and want to  add some cardio to their movement routine.

  • Yes, pregnant clients are welcome in our Barre, Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates classes. Please be  sure to let your instructor know, so we can provide you with the appropriate modifications. It is best to  check with your medical professional before commencing if you are pregnant and new to Pilates. We  also run Pre and Post Natal programs which you can check out here.

  • Our classes are for ages 18 and up. Beyond this, all ages are welcome.

  • We recommend bringing a water bottle (staying hydrated during exercise is especially important!) Wear comfy clothing you can move around in easily. We ask that all clients wear socks for Reformer  Pilates classes. We sell grip socks in the Studio, or you are welcome to bring your own. All equipment  including Mats is provided.

  • What is the cancellation policy if I can’t attend a class?

We ask that you cancel or reschedule any classes you are booked into 12 hours before the start time via our app or website. This allows others the chance to attend. If you cancel within 12 hours, it may  not be possible to credit the class back to your account. You can view our full cancellation policy here.

  • We use Momence for our booking system and payment process. Payment is made upon booking. If  you arrive to a class at the start time without prior booking, it may already be fully booked. We cannot  accept payments in person, but we can assist you with the online process if needed.

  • Always consult your doctor or a medical professional to gain clearance for exercise if you have an  injury. We can modify exercises for specific issues and injuries, please get in touch by phone or email  prior to booking and attending so we can assist you.
